BENEFITS OF WING CHUN FOR WOMEN
Wing Chun fist boxing is an extremely effective form of self defence and is particularly suited to women. Whilst the style was made popular by Bruce Lee and others, legend has it that it was invented by a female monk.
Wing Chun, in contrast to many martial arts, if practiced correctly, is actually a soft, free flowing style, which deals more with deflecting an opponent’s energy rather than clashing with it head on. Since Wing Chun takes place in close range it is an ideal form of self defence for women facing an attack on the streets or in the home.
Many women state that they feel vulnerable when out and fear that they are more likely to be attacked, robbed or assaulted. Practicing Wing Chun is an excellent way of learning self – defence skills and increasing courage and confidence. Wing Chun also has enormous health and fitness benefits, increasing flexibility and stamina.
Sadly not enough women take up martial arts. The Feijau Academy Of Wing Chun prides itself on encouraging female students to join us.

WOMEN PRACTIONERS AND WING CHUN KUNG FU
In creating the art, Wing Chun Kung Fu's female creator, Yim Wing, would naturally have taken note of physical differences on force to clash with force. Rather it is on he clever use of force to overcome force with fast deadly moves to overpower the opposition. Wing Chun appeals to women because it's stress is not on muscle building by weightlifting. There is not leaping, rolling or somersaulting, no bloodthirsty yells, etc. The whole concept is based on a scientific approach, as much of the training is on sharpening the sensitivity of the hands and arms to attack the opposition in the shortest distance and the fastest time and with economy of movement
