PARENTS AND THEIR CHILD/CHILDREN
The recent press coverage of Children and young people being involved in and being the victims of violent crime has greatly concerned me. I feel that encouraging children to become involved in a pursuit such as Wing Chun is one way of creating a sense of discipline, achievement and self respect.

It strikes me that a lot of these issues arise out of a growing lack of respect for adults and authority. It seems to me that there is great distance between many children and their parents.
I seek to emphasise the importance of respecting each other young and old and learning from each other after all we are never too old or too young to learn from each other.
I have in the past taught several parents and their children together. One parent told me that he had grown closer to his child as their training sessions were quality time spent together.

I positively encourage children and parents to train alongside each other. I think it is a good way of spending time with your child and sharing an interest. It helps with motivation as parent and child achieve and reach there goals together. It is always interesting to see the positive effect on both the child and the parent.
